Who Else Wants to Follow DJ Vasilj Evic’s footsteps and become a NBA player?

DJ Vasiljevich is currently a senior guard at Miami University. As a member of the basketball team’s Strength and Conditioning First Team, Vasilj Evic has enjoyed a standout career thus far, leading the Hurricanes to a 10-5 record and a place in the 2021 National Invitation Tournament, set to begin in February. He is tied for the national lead in assists and second in steals. He is also a valuable member of the Hurricanes’ recruiting team and is expected to receive high national interest once he decides to enter the NBA draft. As a senior, he will likely compete for or share a national title, making his presence on the Miami campus that much more pronounced.

What does it take to be an excellent basketball player? For Vasilj Evic, it took plenty of hard work and the assistance of many outside people to get where he is today. As he enters his senior year, he is optimistic about his ultimate goal of becoming a professional sports player in the NBA. “I think my work ethic and my hunger to become the best are things that will help me achieve that goal,” he said. DJ Vasiljevich is well aware that basketball is a job like any other, and that playing in the National Basketball League is no different than playing for any other college team.

However, what makes this a job like any other is the amount of time, energy, and effort that it takes to consistently do well and win. If he is able to follow the steps that he has outlined so far and continue to work on his game year after year, there is no reason why he won’t be playing in the NCAA next season. However, if he loses some of those first team games and has to watch from the bench, he knows that it won’t deter him from fulfilling his ultimate goal of going to the NBA. “I am very confident in my abilities as a student-athlete and as a person,” he said. “I have accomplished a lot throughout my five years of school, and I am looking forward to achieving even more.”
