DJ Uiagalelei Stats

DJ Uiagalelei is a freshman quarterback from Clemson. He has been ranked as one of the best quarterbacks in college football, despite being only 19 years old. His arm is considered the strongest in the country and he has thrown two touchdowns and one interception this season. His statistics against his predecessors are difficult to compare, but they can be compared. Despite a limited role as the backup quarterback behind Lawrence, Uiagalelei is still a top talent in Clemson. His completion percentage and yards per game are a bit higher than Lawrence’s, but his passing yard totals still are impressive.

When Uiagalelei was starting against Boston College, he was playing against a tougher opponent. Notre Dame was ranked higher than Clemson in preseason polls, but Uiagalelei was only one of five quarterbacks with more than three hundred yards per game. His two starts against the Irish were close games. He threw two interceptions and had a pick six touchdown against Notre Dame.

In Clemson’s most recent game against Wake Forest, Uiagalelei started at quarterback. He had a rushed passer rating of 79, and was also named the No. 1 quarterback by coach Ross Delenger. While his teammates called him “D.J.” and “Mr. Money Man,” the name is pronounced like a Hawaiian word meaning “big fiveinco.”
