A New York City DJ Envy
Musician. RaaShaun Casey (also known as DJ Envy) is an American radio personality, record producer, and vocalist. He is currently one of three co-hosts of the popular late night talk show The Breakfast Club. He also sings live at weddings and birthday parties. He was also a guest on a song by The Replacements called “My Old School.” Other than his role as a DJ, he has also been involved in the music industry as a member of crews such as Kids and J. Money.
A New York transplant, DJ Envy started making music in the early 1990s. While some in the musical world considered him too metropolitan, he enjoyed a long career as a consistent performer who made his own beats. In the mid-90s he formed his own crew, the Doojic Thieves, which he used to perform and record music in. He released several mixtapes with artists such as Ice-T and Scarface, as well as several solo tracks.
Although he has released numerous solo records and produced music for numerous other artists, the one group that always seems to like Envy’s music is the rapper Push. As he has a new project out every year called Circle of Security, his fans have always come back to him for his production work.
