A Love Story

DJ Matthews is a UK based producer from London, who has gained a reputation as one of the most talented and exciting producers from the capital. He has been playing his beats at Fabric Live, Beat Street, Kulture and many other events around the city. Most people have heard of him from his appearances on ‘Luv’, but he was also noted for his work with Icon Nigo and Cashmere Cat. As a producer, he has contributed production to artists such as Chromeo, Dot Da Genius, J Dilla, and Willnoon. His sound and style have crossed over to a number of other artists including Jay Z, Maradona, and P Diddy.

Matthews began his fascination with dance music at a very early age, skipping school to get a DJ setup in his bedroom. Eventually, he graduated from drama and did well in drama class. After that he decided to take up drums, but not long after that he got seriously interested in music.

Today, he runs his own studio where he plays everything from traditional soul to modern and funky electronica. Recently he was invited to perform at the Wireless Festival in London, which was an underground party and tribute to the rave scene. In the evening he played special solo sets at Fabric and Kulture. It was the second night of his ever performing at such a large club. The experience has inspired many new DJs from around the world.
